Porter Valley Plodders is a small, friendly, informal running club for trail and fell lovers, based in south west Sheffield.  We run on Wednesdays and we're local to Greystones, Fulwood, Ranmoor and Ecclesall but we attract runners from all over Sheffield.

Updated for 2022:

We meet every Wednesday at 6.30pm for a 6.40pm start at the corner of Greystones Drive and Greystones Road:

Being a Plodder means meeting on Wednesday nights at The Greystones pub, with a plod up the Porter Valley, followed by (importantly!) beer and crisps in the pub. Most people come and socialise after the run. We have a good mix of ages and abilities.

We like to meet new people and you are welcome to come and give it a try.  Please bear in mind:

1. You need to be comfortable running on trails and you should be able to run 6-7 miles off-road.  We have a range of runners and there's usually a slower group and a faster group, but if you're an absolute beginner, we're probably not the right club for you.

2. In winter you must wear suitable clothing/shoes and wear a decent head-torch.  In summer, we do away-days so please check our Plodder Facebook page to make sure we're not away that week.

If you're nervous or want to know more, just pop and say hi to us in the pub after our run.  We're usually in the Greystones from around 8pm and you can't miss us.
